Battle of the Ages (HTTYD RP)

"This sanctuary is home to many of the more dangerous dragon species." Edrik explained. "Whispering Death's, Seashockers, Sand Wraiths, Flame Reapers, and a bunch more.." He said. "But they're quite friendly if you get on their good side."

Stryggwyr made a slight face," I don't recognise any of those names..." she didn't really know any dragon species names except for Stormcutter, and that's because some traveler told her.

"Well, it can't hurt to find out." Edrik said, whistling as some dragons emerged from the cave, the largest of which was a dark blue dragon with no legs, it hovered effortlessly in the air with two large wings. It's eyes were completely white, and its circular mouth was filled with six rings of serrated teeth.

Stryggwyr held Edrik's arm close, startled by the dragon. Then she suddenly grew courage and stepped away from Edrik, watching the dragon," Subterran dragon." she whispered as she looked back to Zephyr, who had her staff in her maw. Stryggwyr was technically without the ability to protect herself. She steeled her nerves and looked back to the Whispering Death before her, tilting her head much like a dragon would do.

The whispering death made a soft hissing noise and lowered its head, looking at Stryggwyr with its blank eyes, it gently nudged her, and closed its eyes.

Edrik chuckled. "She likes you." He said.

Stryggwyr made a soft humming sound, agreeing with Edrik," Beautiful dragon.." She began to gently stroke the Whispering Death's snout," What's your name?" she smiled and whispered quietly, she could sort of understand dragons, the way they growled was a language to her.

Zephyr tilted her frilled head and watched ever-curious.

Edrik looked at Stryggwyr. "Most of these dragons don't have names." He said.

The whispering death hissed and hummed, coiling up its long serpentine body and looking at Stryggwyr, postured like a snake.

Stryggwyr looked back at Edrik," Why not..?" All the dragons in her family had names. She couldn't remember if she had given each one a name or if they had each told her their names.

"I don't know, the old woman who used to live here never named the dragons." Edrik said. "But perhaps we could name them." he added. "Oh.. and I've never seen the alpha, but i know there is one somewhere."

Stryggwyr seemed confused by that, how could one have lived there their entire lives but never met the Alpha that protects them all?" That's good at least,"

The she-dragon that had been by Takae felt her spines facial flaps droop in loneliness.

Takae flew back to the cave and let out a call, looking for the dragon from earlier.

Edrik looked into one of the caves. "Let's go in here." He said. "Maybe we will find the alpha." He said, walking towards one of the caves, he spotted what appeared to be large vines on the inside of the cave, each vine giving off an eerie red glow.

Stryggwyr felt unease settle in her bones," Edrik, something is wrong here." She shivered and hugged herself.

The she-dragon was laying in the crevice with her strikingly coloured tail laying out of the split in the rockface, occasionally it would twitch.

Takae made a low humming noise and went to catch some fish.

Edrik touched one of the odd vines with his hand and saw that some red 'sap' was covering the vines. "Wait... This is blood..." He said, hearing a faint heartbeat from below. "These aren't vines..... They're blood vessels.."

" We're inside a dragon." Stryggwyr clarified as she stepped back to Zephyr, whom had wrapped her tail around Stryggwyr's legs once she was close enough." I don't like this.." Stryggwyr mumbled as she held onto her dragon bone necklace.

The she-dragon looked up as she heard distant splashing. Pulling herself up, she looked out of her crevice, eyes bursting into that beautiful mismatched glow so she could see in the dark better.

Suddenly, the island began to shake violently as the sandy shore collapsed into the ocean. Two massive wings breached the water's surface, followed by the rest of the body, a colossal wyvern made of stone had emerged from the ocean. It's eyes glowed with a magma-like blaze, it took to the air astonishingly fast for a beast of its size, it's wingbeats creating storm conditions on the ocean.

Edrik lifted Stryggwyr onto Maelstrom's back and flew out of the cave, leading Zephyr out as well, he watched as thousands of dragons circled around the colossal stone wyvern, dipping their heads in respect. "Colossal Class, Approximately 15,000 feet in length...." He said.

Takae flew toward the dark crevice and dropped a pile of fish in front of it, coiling up and waiting.

Stryggwyr shrieked in fear and clung to Edrik," The hell is that thing?" she held close to him and at the same time, feared greatly for her dragon. The creature before them was terrifying.

Edrik watched as the Colossal Wyvern landed in a shallow portion of the ocean, its body lined with tunnels that were filled with dragons.

" You lived in that thing for how long again?" Stryggwyr whispered as she clung to Edrik.

The she-dragon made a purring sound as she poked her head out of her crevice, brightly glowing eyes staring at Takae and the fish. She tilted her head confused.

"Basically my entire life, but i never knew that it was a dragon..." Edrik said.

Takae smiled and tilted his head, he moved the pile of fish closer to the female dragon and chirped.

Stryggwyr made a small chirp like sound, dark hair fluttering in the wind as she looked to Zephyr.

The she-dragon tilted her head and pulled herself slightly forward, confused by the gesture, but hunger overtook that concern. She slid out of the crevice like a serpent, she didnt even look like she had wings.

Takae watched closely and tilted his head.

The colossal stone wyvern roared deafeningly and flared out its wings, snarling.

Stryggywr cried out in pain, clamping her hands over her ears. Zephyr made a mirror move of her rider and fell out of the sky somewhat.

The she-dragon chirped and tweeted her strange little purring sounds as she snatched up one of the fish and swallowed it whole, a known habit of Nightfuries.

Takae took some fish of his own and swallowed it whole as well.

Edrik covered his ears and looked up at the colossal wyvern, as it became quiet, he saw it staring at him.

The she-dragon came out of the crevice completely, tail resting beside her forelegs as she ate more fish. She was really happy Takae had gotten her food, she hadn't eaten in a long time.

Stryggwyr held close to Edrik once the noise stopped, her eyes watched the wyvern and narrow.

The wyvern snorted and glared at Stryggwyr, not recognizing her.

Takae chirped and curled up.
